DMP at Number 39

NEW DMP ANNOUCEMENT

It is with sadness that after ten great years we have had to relinquish our official partnership with Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap. Due to the severe conditions placed on music venues we are not financially able to keep our partnership viable. A combination of a global pandemic and other factors beyond our control has now made our position untenable.

There are plans for Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap to reopen whenever possible and we wish the bar all the very best in doing so. We are still happy to work with Number 39 again in the future and we believe that there are plans to continue with live music at the Bridge St venue.

We thank you all for your brilliant support for a decade of the brilliant scene that we ALL created!

On a positive note, as well as Number 39, we have had discussions with another couple of venues in Darwen regarding promoting music nights in the town when the restrictions lift.

Below is a list of the acts that we booked to appear at Number 39 - the home of Darwen Music Projects. We are extremely proud of this list...

Martin Carthy, Andy Kershaw, Dennis Bovell, Henge, Merry Hell, Melanie Williams & Joe Roberts, The Kyla Brox Band, Tantz, Baked A La Ska, Honeyfeet, Dread Supreme, Edwina Hayes, Attila The Stockbroker, Age Of Glass, Victor Brox, Jeremy Sassoon, World Service Project, Schnellertollermeier, Paddy Steer, TwoMan Ting, The Hut People, Marley Chingus, Dub Natty Sessions, Gone Beggin', Kirsty Almeida, Trevor Roots & The Collaborators, Gypsies Of Bohemia, Captain Hotknives, Del Rio Ramblers, Harp And A Monkey, Plumhall, Tipitina, Kiki Deville, Drop The Floor, Dub Jazz Soundsystem, Iron Bell, Get Carter, John The Baptist & The Second Coming, Extra Love, Callum Ingram, Lukas Oravec Qt, Logan & Manley, Nicola Farnon Trio, Stu Clarke, Matt Woosey, JD Meatyard, The Gary Boyle Band and the sold out Nik Turner gig that was not to be.... And many more, FAR TOO MANY TO MENTION!!

In addition we have seen some truly amazing musicians gracing the little performance space at Number 39 including - Aaron Liddard (Prince), Luke flowers, John Ellis and Stuart McCallum (Cinematic Orchestra), Myke Wilson (808 State), Christian Madden (Liam Gallagher), Ged Lynch (Peter Gabriel), Scott Whitley and Simon Hough (Big Country), Matt Steele (Brand New Heavies), Dave Sturt and Graham Clarke (Gong), Paul Burgess (10cc)......... just to name drop a few!!

These are painful times for all of us but what keeps us motivated is the fact that there's going to be a lot of parties and events to organise when this is all over! A world without events is pointless and we don't want to let that happen in Darwen.

Stay strong!
